Cumilla:Police have recovered the body of an Indian medical student from a pond in Cumilla, two days after he was reported missing from his hostel at Eastern Medical College.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the deceased student was identified as Adnan, a fifth-year medical student and resident of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Locals discovered the body in a pond near the college on Wednesday morning and alerted the authorities.
Officer-in-Charge of Burichang Police Station, Lutfor Rahman, stated that Adnan had arrived in Bangladesh with his mother on October 31. It was reported that Adnan's family brought him back to Bangladesh against his will due to his lack of attentiveness to his studies.
Following Adnan's disappearance, both the college authorities and his mother filed a general diary with Burichang Police Station on Tuesday. The cause of death remains unknown at this time.
