Gazipur:Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has deployed 12 platoons of its personnel in the industrial areas of Gazipur, Narayanganj, and nearby regions to maintain law and order amid ongoing labor unrest. The move aims to ensure public safety and uninterrupted industrial operations.
According to United News of Bangladesh, 10 platoons have been stationed in the Shafipur, Kaliakair, and Konabari areas of Gazipur, while two platoons are positioned in the Chashara area of Narayanganj. The situation in Ashulia, Mirpur, and other relevant areas is also under close observation.
To enhance surveillance and ensure rapid response, BGB has increased technology-based monitoring using drones and body cameras, stated BGB Headquarters Public Relations Officer Md Shariful Islam. These technological tools are being used to monitor key roads and sensitive areas, with live footage being streamed to a central monitoring cell at BGB Headquarters.
The live monitoring system allows authorities to assess situations in real time, coordinate with relevant units, and provide necessary instructions. BGB personnel are working in coordination with local administration and other law enforcement agencies to maintain normalcy in the industrial districts.
