Cumilla:Police have detained 385 individuals in a coordinated crackdown across the Cumilla district. The operation targeted alleged instigators of labor unrest, members of banned organizations, juvenile gangs, muggers, and individuals involved in drug-related activities.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the operation was conducted simultaneously across all 18 police station areas from Monday evening until midnight. This was stated in a press release signed by Additional Superintendent of Police Md Lutfar Rahman on Tuesday.

Senior police officers participated in the drive, which involved all units of the district police, including the Detective Branch (DB). Detectives detained Masud Rana, 26, identified by police as a key instigator of unrest among factory workers. Masud is accused of inciting labor protests through social media posts.

The operation primarily focused on areas where juvenile gangs and unruly youths were reportedly active. Those detained include alleged drug dealers and users, muggers, members of banned organizations, and individuals wanted in connection with various cases.

Police emphasized their commitment to conducting such operations regularly to prevent young people from engaging in criminal activities and to encourage them to return to their studies. The district police also pledged to continue these operations to enhance public safety and maintain law and order, while ensuring that no innocent individuals were harassed during the process.
