Gazipur:Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has deployed 12 platoons of its personnel in Gazipur, Narayanganj, and adjoining industrial areas to maintain law and order, ensure public safety, and keep industrial operations uninterrupted amid labor movement.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deployed personnel are coordinating with the local administration and other law enforcement agencies. Currently, 10 platoons of BGB personnel are stationed in Shafipur, Kaliakair, and Konabari areas of Gazipur, while two platoons are in Chashara of Narayanganj. The situation in Ashulia, Mirpur, and other relevant areas is also under close surveillance.

BGB is utilizing technology-driven live monitoring through drones and body-worn cameras to effectively assess ground-level situations and take prompt action when necessary. Surveillance has been intensified, particularly over important roads, intersections, and sensitive areas, using drones. Footage from body-worn cameras worn by BGB personnel is being monitored to ensure transparency and accountability.

Live footage from drones and body-worn cameras is being directly monitored from a central monitoring cell at BGB headquarters. This system allows for real-time assessment of ground situations, coordination with relevant units, and the issuance of necessary operational directives.

BGB is committed to working with professionalism, restraint, and responsibility to ensure the safety of people and property, maintain normal movement, and preserve a peaceful environment in industrial areas. Coordinated operations with local administration and other law enforcement agencies, alongside close technology-based monitoring, will continue to maintain normalcy, BGB added.
