Jhenaidah:Prime Minister's Political Assistant Rashed Khan announced today that the government is working tirelessly to tackle the ongoing energy and gas crisis in the country.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rashed Khan highlighted that the failure to explore or discover new gas wells during the tenure of the deposed Awami League government has led to the current energy shortage. He made these remarks while speaking to journalists after attending the funeral prayer of Israil Hossain, the relief and rehabilitation affairs secretary of Jhenaidah district BNP, at the Naldanga Bhushan School ground.
Rashed Khan criticized the opposition, stating that the BNP government faced challenges from opposing forces, specifically the defeated forces of 1971 and 2024, who were allegedly trying to destabilize the government. He affirmed the government's support for the legitimate demands of garment workers but accused the Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer of being responsible for violence linked to the Awami League's activities surrounding the workers' movement.
He also referred to the 11-party long march, where the Jamaat Ameer warned of devastation if their demands were unmet. Following this, Khan alleged that the banned Awami League and its student wing, Bangladesh Chhatra League, initiated chaos around the garment workers' movement, aiming to harm Bangladesh's economy.
The event was attended by Officer-in-Charge of Kaliganj Police Station Julfikar Ali, former senior joint convener of Kaliganj Upazila BNP Hamidul Islam, former general secretary Tabibur Rahman Mini, and other leaders and activists from BNP and its associate bodies.
