Dhaka:Prime Minister Tarique Rahman joined the opening ceremony of the Bangladesh Solar Expo-2026 in the city this morning as the chief guest. The event was held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in the capital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Power Division and the Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) jointly organized the expo for the first time, under the theme "Utilise Every Inch of Rooftop, Increase Income through Solar Power."
The ceremony was chaired by Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood Tuku. Other notable attendees included State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit, Finance Secretary Dr. Md Khairuzzaman Mozumder, and Power Division Secretary Mirana Mahrukh. Ministers, state ministers, members of parliament, secretaries, and senior government officials from various ministries were also present at the programme.
