Dhaka:Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon has announced that the government is ensuring transparency and accountability in examination assessments by eliminating irregularities such as under-marking and over-marking. This commitment aims to reflect students' actual merit and competence in results.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Milon stated that the recent Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination results accurately represented students' abilities. The minister highlighted these points during the closing ceremony of the 210th Basic Training Course at the National Academy for Educational Management (NAEM) in the capital, where he was the chief guest.
Dr. Milon also mentioned plans for students who failed one or two subjects to take improvement examinations promptly, preventing loss of valuable academic time. He emphasized the government's efforts to align the education system with global standards, eliminate nepotism, and promote a merit-based assessment system.
Further, he stressed the importance of improving teachers' standards and incorporating technological transformations in education. He assured that teacher recruitment, promotion, and evaluation would be free from nepotism, with performance assessments based on merit and skills using a digital, pyramid-structured process. This initiative aims to position qualified teachers appropriately and enhance their role in advancing education.
Dr. Milon concluded by asserting the necessity of improving the education system's quality and providing teachers with proper training to create a modern education system for future generations. The event was presided over by NAEM Director General Dr. Wasim Md Mazbahul Haque and was attended by relevant officials and teachers participating in the training course.
