Dhaka:Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar has strongly condemned and rejected a Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) report, describing its claim of zero female participation in the party's central leadership as "false and misleading."

According to United News of Bangladesh, Porwar refuted TIB's research report titled 'Institutional Governance of Political Parties in Bangladesh,' which was published on November 1.

Porwar emphasized that Jamaat practises internal democracy in line with its constitution, featuring active female participation and designated women's committees. He outlined that the party's Central Working Council currently includes 21 women members, while the Central Majlis-e-Shura comprises 122 women members. Additionally, female members make up nearly 43 percent of the party's total Rokons (Members).

Porwar criticized the report from a responsible organization like TIB as unwanted and irresponsible, urging the anti-corruption watchdog to exercise greater caution and responsibility in future reports concerning the party.
