Chattogram:Chattogram Custom House has vacated its deteriorating building and commenced operations at a rented office. As of Sunday, November 1, the customs office has moved to a leased space in the World Trade Centre located in Agrabad.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, full-scale operations from this new location are scheduled to begin on December 1. The Custom House will continue to operate from this temporary site until a new World Bank-funded building is ready for use.

The new building is expected to be operational by early 2030, as stated by Al Amin. Once complete, it will provide comprehensive services under one roof for all stakeholders, which is anticipated to boost revenue. The Chattogram Custom House is responsible for customs clearance for all goods imported and exported through the Port of Chattogram, serving thousands of people, including importer and exporter representatives, every working day.
