Dhaka:A metropolitan magistrate court has granted a four-day police remand for Jerika Tasnim Disha, who is 19 years old, in connection with the murder case of former Air Force Flight Lieutenant Tahsif Sauri. Jerika was brought before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, where the Investigating Officer of the case requested a seven-day remand to facilitate a proper investigation. However, Metropolitan Magistrate Ripon Hossain approved a four-day remand after the hearing.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sub-Inspector Saiful Islam from the General Registration Office of Uttarkhan Police Station confirmed the remand news. Previously, Metropolitan Magistrate Hasib Ullah Piyas had also granted a four-day remand for Ahmed Shahriar Reza Deep, aged 23, in the same case.
The First Information Report (FIR) reveals that on October 27, Tahsif Sauri left his home at 6 pm after being contacted by a junior friend, Deep. Despite assurances to his mother that he would return soon, Tahsif sent a voice message at 135 am stating he was on his way but never returned. The following day, his body was discovered by the River Police in the Turag River near Rajarbari Ghat, and was later handed over to his family after an autopsy.
Tahsif's father, K. M. Enayetul Karim, subsequently filed a murder case at Uttarkhan Police Station concerning the incident.
