Dhaka:One dengue patient has died in the last 24 hours, with 1,633 others hospitalized due to the mosquito-borne disease within the same period.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the latest fatality increases the country's dengue death toll to 419 this year, as reported by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among the newly hospitalized dengue patients, 604 were in Dhaka Division, 70 in Mymensingh Division, 281 in Chattogram Division, 228 in Khulna Division, 149 in Rajshahi Division, 67 in Rangpur Division, and 234 in Barishal Division.
The report indicates that a total of 135,000 dengue patients have been hospitalized across the country this year. So far, 128,345 of these patients have recovered and returned home after receiving treatment in hospitals.
Last year, 102,861 people were infected with dengue, resulting in 413 fatalities from the disease.
