Dhaka:The Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment has announced a fixed medical test fee of Taka 8,000 for Bangladeshi workers planning to seek employment in Malaysia. This decision was communicated via an official notification released today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the notification states that no additional charges should be imposed beyond the prescribed fee. Workers are advised not to pay more than the set amount for their medical examinations. The notification also warns against engaging with brokers or middlemen for these medical tests.

The ministry emphasized that medical centers are not to be controlled exclusively by any recruiting agency, allowing workers to choose any authorized facility for their health check-ups. If a worker decides to switch recruiting agencies after obtaining a medical slip, the original agency is required to forward the medical report to the new agency without objection.

In instances where medical centers demand fees exceeding the set amount, or if workers face harassment or delays, the ministry has requested immediate reporting of such incidents to [email protected]. Additionally, the notification clarified that acquiring a 'MyGRAMS' slip incurs no fee.

Regular monitoring of the medical centers will be conducted by the ministry to ensure compliance, and any found violating the regulations will face strict legal consequences. The ministry has urged workers, recruiting agencies, and medical centers to adhere strictly to these guidelines.
