Dhaka:Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator Abdus Salam stated that the future of the country rests in the hands of children, underscoring the importance of nurturing them as good citizens through activities like sports, music, dance, and moral education in addition to their academic studies.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Abdus Salam highlighted that future ministers, lawmakers, mayors, administrators, and competent journalists would emerge from the new generation. He emphasized the need to instill education, morality, and patriotism in children from an early age.

He expressed these views while serving as the chief guest at the Children and Adolescents Cultural Festival-2026, organized by Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU). Addressing the young participants, he mentioned that the responsibility of carrying forward the legacy of the country's red-and-green flag, earned through the Liberation War in 1971, would fall on the new generation, who would lead the nation in the future.

Additionally, Abdus Salam referred to the DRU premises, noting that the land was allocated to the organization during the tenure of former Dhaka mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka. He assured the organization of support in resolving any legal issues that might arise during the construction of its building.
