In one notable instance, a patrol team from the Ramu Battalion (30 BGB) stopped a CNG-run auto-rickshaw traveling from Leda to Cox's Bazar at the Morichya joint checkpost around 530 p.m. on October 28. Suspecting a passenger named Syed Ullah, 19, who resides in Leda Rohingya Camp-24 in Teknaf, the team discovered he was carrying narcotics inside his stomach. Subsequently, they recovered 4,900 yaba tablets from him at 620 p.m. A mobile phone worth Tk 20,000 was also seized, bringing the total value of confiscated items to Tk 14.90 lakh. Legal proceedings are underway to transfer him to Ramu Police Station.

Meanwhile, in additional operations, the Chuadanga Battalion (6 BGB) seized 94 bottles of Indian liquor worth Tk 1.41 lakh during anti-narcotics operations in areas under Sultanpur, Ichakhali, and Baradi Border Outposts. The Netrokona Battalion (31 BGB) conducted five separate operations on October 28 and 29, resulting in the seizure of 78 bottles of Indian liquor, 40 Indian blankets, 7,360 kilograms of coal, and 270 pieces of bamboo. The total value of these seized goods was estimated at Tk 4,69,600.

The BGB reported that the seized liquor would be handed over to the Department of Narcotics Control, while the blankets would be deposited with the customs office. The coal and bamboo are set to be auctioned in coordination with customs and forest department representatives. The BGB emphasized that intelligence surveillance and operations would persist to ensure border security and curb drug trafficking and smuggling activities.
