Khulna:Authorities at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) have dismissed five teachers and two employees due to disciplinary actions. This decision was made in a recent meeting of the university's syndicate.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the dismissals were the result of investigations into allegations that included violating university rules, obtaining jobs using fake experience certificates, and age-related irregularities during recruitment. Other alleged misconducts were also considered in the decision-making process.

The teachers dismissed are Prof. Dr. Pintu Chandra Shil from the Computer Science and Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Subrata Talapatra from the Industrial Engineering and Management Department, Assistant Professor Nibir Mondal from the Environmental Science and Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Masrura Mostafa, and Assistant Professor Shahriar Roman, both from the Humanities and Business Department.

The two other dismissed employees are Deputy Registrar Nimai Chandra Mistry and office assistant Satyajit Kumar Dutta. All seven individuals had been under temporary suspension for a significant period before the final decision was reached.

KUET Registrar Engineer Md. Anisuur Rahman Bhuiyan stated that the decision to dismiss the employees was taken during the university's 115th syndicate meeting. Allegations had previously been made against these employees, resulting in their temporary suspension. Explanations were sought from several individuals, with some responding and others not. The syndicate ultimately decided unanimously to dismiss the five teachers, one officer, and one employee.
