Dhaka:Dhallywood actor Shiba Shanu has been appointed as the Managing Director (MD) of the Bangladesh Artists' Welfare Trust, holding the rank of an Additional Secretary.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the appointment is contractual for one year, with salary and allowances equivalent to Grade-2, as stated in a notice issued by the Ministry of Public Administration.
Shiba Shanu, whose real name is Chowdhury Mazhar Ali, has been appointed under Section 12(2) of the Bangladesh Shilpi Kallyan Trust Act, 2001. The appointment is effective for one year from the date of joining and requires Shanu to relinquish any professional, business, and employment affiliations with government, semi-government, or private organizations.
The terms and conditions of Shanu's appointment will be finalized through a contract. Currently serving as the President of the Bangladesh Film Artistes' Association, Shanu is required to step down from this role to assume his new position as the managing director of the Artists' Welfare Trust. However, he has yet to announce his decision regarding his presidency at the association.
