Habiganj:Jatiya Sangsad Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal emphasized the importance of education in developing a modern, humane, and discrimination-free Bangladesh. He addressed students as future leaders whose ethics, patriotism, and human values will shape the country's democratic future.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Deputy Speaker made these remarks as the chief guest at a meeting titled "National Vision from Educational Institutions" held at the Habiganj District Shilpakala Academy auditorium.

Barrister Kamal highlighted the vital role of educational institutions in creating responsible and patriotic citizens, in addition to providing academic education. He recalled the sacrifices made during the 2024 mass uprising, noting the importance of the younger generation's courage and sense of responsibility in shaping Bangladesh's future.

He also advocated for greater student participation in extracurricular activities such as sports, cultural events, and debates to combat social issues like juvenile gangs and drug addiction. The Deputy Speaker urged students to enhance their foreign-language skills along with their native language.

Addressing teachers, he called for the fostering of ethics, mutual respect, democratic values, creativity, and independent thinking in students, arguing that academic success alone is insufficient for comprehensive development. Kamal described corruption as a significant barrier to national progress and stressed the importance of honesty, accountability, and collective efforts to curb social crimes, including eve-teasing.

He concluded by urging students and citizens from all walks of life to uphold the spirit of the 2024 mass uprising and contribute to building a prosperous, humane, and corruption-free Bangladesh.

The event was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Dr. G. M. Sarfaraz, with Parliament Whip Alhaj Md. G.K. Gouse, Superintendent of Police Md. Tarek Mahmud, and Professor Mohammad Abdul Majeed attending as special guests, along with teachers, students, journalists, and other dignitaries.
