Dhaka:The Bangladesh Solar Expo 2026 is scheduled to commence on November 3 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC) in Agargaon. The expo's aim is to advance solar energy by fostering partnerships among key stakeholders.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has agreed to inaugurate the event. The Power Division and Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) are jointly organizing the two-day expo, set to run from November 3 to 4.

The expo's primary objectives include implementing the National Renewable Energy Development Strategy (2026-2030) and informing stakeholders about government policies and incentives for solar power expansion. The event will showcase modern solar energy technologies and provide financing opportunities to encourage partnerships among investors, financial institutions, and entrepreneurs.

A media briefing is planned for November 1 at 11 a.m. at 'Bijoy Hall' of Bidyut Bhaban to discuss the expo's activities, seminars, documentaries, and data-sharing plans. The expo will attract policymakers, government agencies, development partners, financial institutions, technology suppliers, entrepreneurs, and general consumers.

Key aspects of the renewable energy sector, such as government incentives, modern green technologies, tax and duty benefits, green and climate financing, carbon credits, solar-powered irrigation systems, and training and skill development opportunities, will be highlighted. Additionally, a series of seminars and exchange meetings will take place alongside the exhibitions.
