Khulna:A preparatory meeting for the Divisional Book Fair 2026 took place at the conference room of the Khulna Divisional Commissioner's office this afternoon, chaired by Divisional Commissioner Md Abdullah Harun.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the divisional commissioner emphasized the importance of books as companions to people and expressed optimism for a successful fair with participation from diverse segments of society. He called for cooperation from all involved to ensure the smooth execution of the event.
The meeting disclosed that the nine-day book fair is scheduled from November 10 to 18, featuring daily programs such as discussion sessions, cultural events, and quiz competitions. The fair will welcome visitors from 11am to 10pm on holidays and from 3pm to 10pm on other days.
Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs Md Billal Hossain Khan, Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Abu Sayed Md Manzur Alam, along with divisional-level officials, representatives from the metropolitan committee of JASAS, and Zia Shishu-Kishore Sangathan, attended the meeting to contribute to the fair's planning and execution.
