Chattogram:Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Administrator Dr. Shahadat Hossain today led a campaign to dismantle illegal structures, billboards, banners, and posters in a bid to maintain the city's appeal, restore road order, and ensure citizens' free movement.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the cleanup operation took place along the road from GEC Intersection to Foy's Lake, aiming to make the area clean, attractive, and visually pleasing. The presence of illegal structures and randomly placed advertisements was detracting from the road's appearance and obstructing traffic and pedestrian flow. The removal of these obstructions is intended to return the road to its proper condition.
Dr. Shahadat emphasized the importance of keeping roads and footpaths free from encroachments to preserve the city's beauty and facilitate smooth passage for citizens. He insisted that the city's appearance should not be compromised by unauthorized billboards, banners, and posters. He urged everyone to contribute responsibly to building a clean, beautiful, and livable Chattogram.
He further stated that actions against illegal structures and unauthorized promotional materials will continue to protect the city's aesthetics, reduce public inconvenience, and maintain order on the roads. Zubaida Akter, Regional Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate of the Chattogram City Corporation, was also present during the drive.
