Jhenaidah:The 55th martyrdom anniversary of Bir Shrestha Sepoy Hamidur Rahman was observed in Jhenaidah district with a series of programs, including a discussion meeting and a doa mahfil.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the events commenced with a discussion meeting held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office at 1130 am, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Md. Noman Hossain. Several notable figures, including Zila Parishad administrator Advocate MA Majid, District Freedom Fighters Command Council commander Abdul Majid Master, and others addressed the meeting, highlighting the heroic deeds and ultimate sacrifice of Hamidur Rahman during the Great Liberation War of 1971.
Members of the District Freedom Fighters Command Council and valiant freedom fighters also participated in the event. Following the discussion, a doa mahfil was conducted, seeking eternal peace for Hamidur Rahman and special prayers for all deceased and wounded freedom fighters, as well as for the welfare of the country and its people. Maulana Md. Saidur Rahman, Khatib of Jhenaidah Central Jame Mosque, led the prayers.
