Dhaka:The Election Commission (EC) has announced an extension of the deadline for voter relocation applications due to changes in residence, now set for November 1. This adjustment comes in anticipation of the upcoming local government elections.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the decision to extend the deadline was disclosed by Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, Senior Assistant Secretary of the EC Secretariat. The original deadline was October 31, but due to October 30 and 31 coinciding with the weekly holidays of Friday and Saturday, the commission has directed authorities to accept applications until the following working day, November 1.
This extension aims to accommodate voters who need to update their records in light of residential changes, ensuring their participation in the forthcoming elections.
