Dhaka:Online applications for participation in the 54th convocation of Dhaka University (DU) will begin at 800 am on November 1. Interested applicants can submit their applications through the university's website at https//convocation.du.ac.bd.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the application process will remain open until November 30. Applicants are required to complete the first step of the four-step process by this date, and online payments must be finalized by December 2.
The 54th DU convocation is scheduled to take place on January 26, 2027. President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will preside over the event, with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman attending as the guest of honour. Prof Dr Atsushi Sunami, the president of Japan's Sasakawa Peace Foundation, will deliver the convocation address and receive an honorary Doctor of Laws degree. Additionally, Prof Dr Muhammad Harunur Rashid, a donor to a DU trust fund, will be awarded an honorary Doctor of Science degree.
Graduates whose examination results were released between November 20, 2022, and November 30, 2026, along with medal recipients, will be eligible to participate in the convocation. Furthermore, results published between October 14 and November 18, 2022, that were not included in the 53rd convocation will also be considered for the 54th convocation, allowing those graduates to participate as well, as stated by the university authorities.
