Doha:July Museum has launched a new initiative to provide free wheelchair services for visitors with special needs, aiming to enhance accessibility, comfort, and convenience during their visits.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the wheelchair service began operating this morning, allowing physically challenged visitors to access wheelchairs at no cost from the museum entrance. Visitors accompanied by family members or relatives can operate the wheelchairs themselves, while those visiting alone will receive guidance and support from trained museum volunteers.
The initiative also includes efforts by the museum authority to make pathways, infrastructure, and exhibition halls more accessible and convenient for wheelchair users. Ehasan Mahamud, Director General of July Museum, emphasized the importance of ensuring that physical limitations do not hinder anyone from learning history and visiting the museum. He stated that the museum aims to be an inclusive and open institution for all.
Visitors with special needs, along with their family members, can request the wheelchair service by contacting the museum's main gate.
