Dhaka:The Election Commission (EC) has taken a significant step in preparation for the upcoming local government elections by appointing revising authorities to update the voter list.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the decision was announced through a press release signed by Md. Abdul Halim Khan, Joint Secretary of the EC Secretariat. A total of 150 officials have been designated as revising authorities across 64 districts and cantonment areas in the country.
These appointments are made under Section 11 of the Voter List Act-2009. The revising authorities are tasked with addressing claims, objections, and corrections as per Forms 6, 7, and 8 on the draft voter list. This measure ensures that individuals born on or before October 31, 2008, and registered by October 31, 2026, are accurately included in the finalized updated voter list.
