Dhaka:BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi stated that this year's Durga Puja was celebrated peacefully across Bangladesh due to the government's vigilance, sincerity, and dedication.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Rizvi made these remarks while speaking to reporters after distributing leaflets for Dhaka South City Corporation's dengue prevention awareness campaign in Shantinagar. He highlighted the safe and peaceful environment that allowed the Hindu community to celebrate the festival without issues.

Rizvi noted that many individuals from a neighboring country had traveled to Bangladesh to participate in the Puja celebrations. He emphasized that BNP leaders and activists worked tirelessly to ensure security at every Puja mandap, engaging with relevant committees to facilitate discussions.

Rizvi also alleged that the Awami League and an underground political party were involved in propagating misinformation related to the Durga Puja celebrations. He suggested that their behaviors and statements showed similarities in various incidents.

He further commented that a responsible government could counter any conspiracy and that the successful and peaceful celebration of Durga Puja exemplified this capability. Rizvi praised the BNP for fulfilling its promises and maintaining transparency without deviating from its commitments.

Rizvi mentioned that the government, led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, was actively implementing electoral pledges. He cited economists stating that initiatives like the distribution of Family Cards and Farmers' Cards could potentially lower the poverty rate by five percentage points this year, marking an achievement for the Rahman administration.

Regarding the BNP's dengue prevention campaign, Rizvi informed that leaflet distribution had been paused during Durga Puja but resumed on Thursday, with plans to continue aiding the public in protecting themselves from dengue and minimizing infection risks.
