Chandraganj:Water Resources Minister and BNP Joint Secretary General Md Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee has stated that road marches and long marches will not be allowed as they create unrest in society. He made these remarks during an introductory meeting of the Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal at Charshahi Titarkandi area in Chandraganj upazila.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister highlighted that the government has undertaken numerous development activities in just six months since coming to power. Despite these efforts, Anee expressed concern that unrest is being fostered through road marches and long marches rather than cooperation with the government.

Anee pointed out that the people of the country had faced significant hardships for 17 years, unable to lead normal lives with their families. He criticized the opposition party for their road marches, stating that the populace does not approve of these actions. He urged party leaders and activists to engage in the country's development activities and emphasized the need for collective efforts to combat drug issues, asserting the government's 'zero tolerance' policy on the matter.

The minister further warned that anyone involved in drugs or antisocial activities, regardless of their power, would face consequences. He called for unity and cooperation to strengthen the foundations of democracy. Among those present at the meeting were BNP leader and Bangladesh Football Federation Vice-President Wahid Uddin Chowdhury Happy, Upazila BNP President Belal Hossain, District Mohila Dal President Sabera Anwar, and General Secretary Fatema Akter Sumi.
