Rajshahi:Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has taken steps to support the family of imprisoned BNP leader Mahabur Rashid Rentu, following a plea from his daughters in Rajshahi.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Prime Minister directed Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Administrator and General Secretary of Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP, Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, to assist the family of Mahabur Rashid Rentu. This directive came after Rentu's daughters appealed for their father's release.
In compliance with the Prime Minister's instructions, the RCC Administrator met with Rentu's wife Syeda Dilruba Afroz and daughters Zarin Tasnim Rahi and Sadia Tahmin Mahi at Nagar Bhaban. During the meeting, he provided financial support and assured them of comprehensive assistance in legal matters concerning the imprisoned leader.
RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton confirmed his commitment to the family, stating, "I have stood by the helpless family. I will also arrange employment for one member of the family. Legal assistance for the imprisoned leader in jail will be ensured and all-out cooperation will be provided in legal matters."
Zarin Tasnim Rahi, one of Rentu's daughters, expressed gratitude, saying that the Prime Minister had instructed her to meet with the City Administrator, who has pledged continued support for their family.
