Khulna:Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Administrator Nazrul Islam Manju emphasized the urgent need for job creation and infrastructure development in the Khalishpur and Daulatpur areas of Khulna. The socio-economic conditions in these regions have reportedly deteriorated due to the closure of several industrial units.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the industrial closures have resulted in significant unemployment, negatively impacting local businesses and diminishing residents' access to essential services such as education, healthcare, and housing.
Manju addressed these concerns while speaking with journalists and local residents during an inspection tour focused on mosquito control and cleanliness activities in wards 2 and 3. The inspections are part of a broader three-month campaign initiated by the Prime Minister to curb dengue transmission, with Manju actively overseeing its execution across different wards.
He highlighted the importance of sustaining a healthy environment despite a decline in dengue cases. Additionally, Manju mentioned plans to enhance the living standards of low-income families in the area.
He urged private development and voluntary organizations to collaborate with the KCC to foster collective efforts aimed at improving livelihoods in Khalishpur and Daulatpur. During his visit, Manju also inspected areas including Helal's Basti-1 and Basti-2 and the Rail Line Basti.
