Chattogram:Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, State Minister for the Ministry of Land and the Ministry of Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs, announced that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's visit to Chattogram for Durga Puja is expected to strengthen communal harmony and foster trust and goodwill among people of all faiths.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the State Minister made these remarks while speaking to journalists at the Durga Puja pavilion at J. M. Sen Hall in the city's Kotwali police station area.

Mir Helal Uddin highlighted that this marks the first instance of a head of government visiting Chattogram specifically for Durga Puja. Previously, late Khaleda Zia, a former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson, visited the city for Janmashtami. Now, Tarique Rahman, as Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson, is making this significant visit.

He expressed that this development has encouraged and instilled pride among the people. Recalling the Prime Minister's pre-election promise to build a "rainbow nation," a society free from discrimination, he noted that this visit demonstrates the fulfillment of that promise.

The State Minister further added that the visit will contribute to deepening harmony and mutual trust among followers of different religions, reflecting a broader goal of creating an egalitarian society where everyone enjoys equal rights and dignity, regardless of religion or background.
