Accra:The government has implemented all necessary measures to ensure that the Hindu community can celebrate Durga Puja in a peaceful and festive atmosphere. Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain announced this commitment, stating that law enforcement agencies and the administration are maintaining round-the-clock vigilance to guarantee security during the festival.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sakhawat made these remarks while addressing Hindu devotees and local residents during visits to various Durga Puja mandaps in Belabo upazila. He emphasized the government's efforts to support the celebrations, including the distribution of additional financial assistance to underprivileged Hindu families, ranging from Taka 5,000 to Taka 6,000.
Furthermore, the minister contributed Taka 15,000 from his personal funds to each Puja mandap. This gesture, he noted, is not only financial support but also a demonstration of solidarity with the Hindu community's religious festivities, aiming to strengthen communal harmony.
Sakhawat expressed gratitude to his constituency's residents for their continued support and assured them that he would always stand by them.
