Dhaka:Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today urged officials and employees of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) to work diligently to make the capital a cleaner, healthier, and more livable city for the benefit of future generations. He emphasized that everyone should contribute to creating a healthier environment for their children.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Tarique Rahman stressed the importance of building a healthy city, noting that children travel across the city to various places such as schools and playgrounds, rather than staying only in their own neighborhoods. He highlighted waste and uncleanliness as major issues facing Dhaka and called for a collaborative effort to gradually improve the situation.

The Prime Minister addressed DSCC officials and employees, encouraging them to take personal initiative in identifying and resolving problems related to cleanliness. He drew parallels with London's past struggles with waste and uncleanliness, noting that sustained efforts and public awareness helped improve the situation there.

Tarique Rahman shared a recent conversation with a South Korean executive who observed some improvement in Dhaka's cleanliness, suggesting that further positive change is achievable through collective effort. He also monitored the capital's road and waste management conditions, noting ongoing improvements and stressing the importance of continuing such initiatives.

The Prime Minister visited the emergency operations center at Nagar Bhaban, reviewing various data sources including weather and air quality information. He also observed DSCC's cleanliness activities through social media and watched a presentation on urban development efforts.

State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, DSCC Administrator Abdus Salam, Dhaka North City Corporation Administrator Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton, and Local Government Division Senior Secretary Shahidul Hassan were present during the occasion.
