Rajshahi:The city is abuzz with anticipation as Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman prepares to visit tomorrow. Final preparations are underway, with local authorities and the BNP making last-minute arrangements for the significant event, which has stirred enthusiasm and excitement among the residents of Rajshahi.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Prime Minister's itinerary includes attending a large public rally at the historic Madrasa Maidan. He is also scheduled to engage with members of the Sanatan community at Dharmasava in celebration of Sharadiya Durga Puja. The upcoming visit, his first to Rajshahi as Prime Minister, has generated considerable interest among both BNP supporters and the general public.
Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP, highlighted the intense excitement surrounding the visit, noting that Tarique Rahman is seen as a unifying figure, having led a 17-year struggle. Additionally, various demands of Rajshahi will be presented, including improvements to seed preservation, the elevation of Rajshahi Airport to international status, the establishment of an agro-based Export Processing Zone, and the advancement of Rajshahi Medical University and a full-fledged agricultural university. There is also a call for Rajshahi city to be officially declared an 'Education City.'
BNP leaders, along with officials such as Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Yusuf Ali and Metropolitan Police Commissioner Foyzul Kabir, have been actively preparing for the event, inspecting the Madrasa Maidan to ensure everything is in place for the Prime Minister's visit.
