Accra:Liton Das, the regular captain of Bangladesh's cricket team, has been ruled out of the entire tri-nation ODI series in the United Arab Emirates due to a hip injury.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the national team physiotherapist, Bayjedul Islam, confirmed Liton's unavailability. In a video message from the Bangladesh Cricket Board, Bayjedul explained that Liton reported discomfort in his right hip joint, leading to an MRI that revealed issues. Despite attempting to play after a fitness test, Liton was unable to meet the required standards.

Liton's absence necessitates changes in Bangladesh's batting lineup and leadership for the series. Additionally, Miraz was sidelined from the opening match against Zimbabwe due to fever. His participation in future matches will depend on his recovery, with no final decision announced yet.
