Bhomra:Import and export activities at Bhomra Land Port will be suspended for seven days from today until October 23 due to Sharadiya Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival for the Hindu community.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the suspension was announced by the Bhomra Land Port C and F Agents Association, based on a letter from India's Ghojadanga C and F Agents Cargo Welfare Association.

Abu Musa, the general secretary of the Bhomra Land Port C and F Agents Association, stated that the Indian association informed them of a six-day suspension from October 17 to October 22 for Durga Puja. Since October 23 is a Friday, which is a weekly holiday in Bangladesh, the suspension will last for seven days.

Despite the suspension of commercial activities, ASI Shamim, the acting officer-in-charge of Bhomra Immigration Police, confirmed that passport-holding passengers will still be able to travel through the port. Normal commercial activities between Bangladesh and India are scheduled to resume on October 24.
