Dhaka:Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested 481 individuals and filed 40 cases following extensive raids across the capital over the past 24 hours.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a DMP statement detailed that the arrests spanned various divisions, with 131 people apprehended in Mirpur Division, 74 in Wari, 72 in Tejgaon, 58 in Motijheel, 40 in Lalbagh, 38 in Uttara, 37 in Gulshan, 29 in Ramna, and two by the Detective Branch.
During the operations, police seized significant quantities of illegal items, including 10,145 yaba pills, 6.17 grams of heroin, 500 grams of copper wire, 1,000 bars of soap, and three mobile phones. The raids were carried out in numerous police station areas throughout Dhaka, resulting in the confiscation of drugs and other evidence.
Further legal actions are being pursued against those arrested.
