Durgapur:A vibrant Autumn Festival 1433 took place on the Someshwari riverbed in Durgapur upazila, featuring discussions, poetry recitations, music, and dance. The event was held at a Kashbon and organized by the Shaheed Santosh Smriti Foundation, with the organisation's president, Palash Saha, presiding over the festivities. Principal Shaheed Khan, a cultural personality, attended as the chief guest, while poet Bidyut Sarkar moderated the program.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, poet and thinker Enamul Haque Palash emphasized the importance of recognizing and respecting one's own culture, describing it as a spontaneous expression of society. He highlighted that while Rabindranath Tagore could not be isolated from Bangladesh's cultural heritage or turned into a cultural cult, figures like Buddhist Sahajiya ascetics, Sufis, Chaitanya, Lalon, and Kazi Nazrul Islam also hold significant places in the country's diverse spiritual and cultural traditions.

The festival included performances by poets Lokanta Shaon, Anindya Jasim, Bokul Master, Dunia Mamun, and Sajeem Saim, along with other writers and cultural personalities from the district. The program commenced with a dance by children, followed by a musical performance by artist Mijanur Rahman Kanchan and his troupe. Kanchan is known for his top 10 finish in the inaugural season of 'Sabuj Surer Sandhane'. Participants and guests actively engaged in the cultural activities, making the event a lively celebration on the Someshwari riverbed for the second time.
