Khulna:The newly constructed regional office of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) in Khulna is set to alleviate the challenges faced by jobseekers, particularly by reducing travel costs, time, and inconvenience. Jatiya Sangsad Whip and Khulna-3 lawmaker Rakibul Islam Bakul highlighted these benefits while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the office in the Boyra area of the city.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bakul emphasized that the new facility will enable candidates from the Khulna division and nearby districts to access various commission services without the need to travel repeatedly to Dhaka. This development is particularly beneficial for disadvantaged and financially struggling candidates.
BPSC Secretary Md Fazlur Rahman revealed that the commission plans to establish regional offices in seven divisional cities. Currently, two offices, including the one in Khulna, are operational, with two more awaiting launch. Officials noted that the new facility would support local smaller recruitment tests, thereby reducing reliance on schools and colleges as venues for large-scale examinations, such as the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exams.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Khulna-1 lawmaker Amir Ejaz Khan, Khulna Zila Parishad Administrator SM Monirul Hasan Bappi, Divisional Commissioner Md Abdullah Harun, and Deputy Commissioner Hoore Jannat. The regional office is anticipated to improve access to government recruitment services for candidates outside the capital, making the process more convenient and cost-effective.
