Rangunia:Liberation War Affairs Minister Adv. Ahmed Azam Khan and State Minister Ishraque Hossain paid tribute to Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman by laying a floral wreath at his first tomb monument at Zia Nagar (Pomra) in Rangunia.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the ministers offered prayers for the eternal peace of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and for the nation's peace, progress, and prosperity. They also planted saplings on the premises, expressing their commitment to build the country with inspiration from the Liberation War and the ideals of Shaheed Zia.

The ceremony was attended by leaders and activists from the Chattogram district and Rangunia upazila units of the BNP and its associate bodies. Following the tribute, the ministers visited a 10-acre property and the abandoned factory of Eastern Chemical Industries Limited, managed by the Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust.

Minister Azam Khan criticized previous government actions, claiming there was a conspiracy during the Hasina regime to undermine the Liberation War Affairs Ministry by neglecting or selling its properties. He assured that the current government would utilize the Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust's assets efficiently to prevent further state losses.

State Minister Ishraque Hossain explained that they are evaluating potential projects for the abandoned land and factory to create local jobs and enhance government revenue. The visit was attended by local officials, BNP leaders, and senior officials from the Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust.
