Bandarban:Hotels, motels, and resorts in Bandarban are experiencing high demand ahead of the consecutive holidays for Sharadiya Durga Puja, with advance bookings already reaching 70-80% of available rooms.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the extended holidays are expected to attract many domestic and international tourists to Bandarban, known for its picturesque landscapes, including rolling hills and captivating waterfalls. This anticipated influx is bringing optimism to tourism-related businesses, which are preparing for an economic boost.

Local attractions such as the hilltop views of Nilachal, the Meghla tourism complex, and the natural beauty of Shailaprapat, Debotakhum, Nafakhum, and Amiakhum are drawing visitors eager to explore the region's natural offerings. With strong demand for accommodations, hotel and resort owners expect bookings to increase as the holidays approach.

Jasim Uddin, general secretary of the Bandarban Hotel-Motel Association, noted that around 70-80% of rooms have been booked, indicating a potential shortage of accommodations during the peak period. Suman, manager of Hotel Grand Valley, confirmed that 50-70% of the hotel's rooms are already reserved, and they are prepared to welcome a large number of tourists.

To facilitate tourist transportation, more than 400 jeeps, known locally as Chander Gari, are ready to transport visitors across popular destinations. Kamal, a line manager of the Bandarban Jeep and Microbus Owners Association, stated that preparations are in place to accommodate the increased demand.

The expected rise in tourist numbers is also providing hope for local restaurants, food outlets, and small businesses. Security measures are being strengthened to ensure a safe visit for tourists, with Bandarban Superintendent of Police Md. Wahabul Islam Khandaker emphasizing the coordination with stakeholders to address security concerns.

As preparations continue, Bandarban is poised for a busy holiday season, with tourism operators hopeful for a significant uptick in the local economy.
