Dhaka:Nagad, the mobile financial service under the Bangladesh Postal Department, has launched a revamped mobile application designed to make digital financial transactions more efficient and secure. The new app boasts a user-friendly interface and integrates advanced technology to improve users' daily financial experiences.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the redesigned Nagad app is positioned as one of the safest in Bangladesh's financial sector. It will receive continuous upgrades and new features over time. Available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, the app requires an update before customers can make new transactions to ensure seamless digital services.
The new app promises a smoother transaction experience with significantly lower response, load, and lag times than other financial service apps. With a simple design, the app is accessible to marginalized populations and offers core services like payments, money transfers, mobile recharges, and utility bill payments. It also includes interoperability features, furthering the transition to a cashless society. Additional services such as loans, fixed deposits, and insurance will soon be available.
To enhance security, the app incorporates a Device Binding feature and a multi-layered, internationally standardized security framework, including AI-based fraud prevention systems. This ensures robust protection against transaction-related fraud risks.
Md. Motasem Billah, the administrator appointed by Bangladesh Bank to Nagad, emphasized that the app prioritizes customer convenience alongside financial security. He highlighted the combination of a modern user-friendly experience with a strong security framework, allowing users to conduct transactions easily and securely. He also noted that new services and security features will be continuously added to meet customers' evolving financial needs.
