Narayanganj:Narayanganj Zila Parishad has provided Taka 24 lakh in financial assistance to 240 puja mandaps in the district in preparation for the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, each mandap received a cheque for Taka 10,000. These cheques were distributed during a ceremony held at the Zila Parishad office on Sunday afternoon.
Zila Parishad administrator Mamun Mahmud attended the event as the chief guest and personally handed over the cheques to the representatives of the mandaps. The ceremony was led by Zila Parishad executive officer Ramananda Pal.
Notable attendees included Joy K Roy Chowdhury, the Central Committee Vice-Chairman of the Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Front, as well as Shankar Kumar Dey, President of the Narayanganj district unit of the Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad, and its General Secretary Shikhan Sarkar Shipon.
