Barishal:A 25-year-old housewife named Oishee Akter was allegedly beaten to death by her husband in Babuganj upazila of Barishal district on Monday.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the incident occurred following a family dispute between Oishee and her husband, Sohel Khan. Mizanur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Babuganj Police Station, reported that the altercation led to Sohel striking Oishee on the head with an iron rod and beating her severely.
Oishee's condition worsened on Monday morning, prompting her to be taken to Babuganj Upazila Health Complex. Unfortunately, doctors declared her dead around 730 am. Dr. AK Manirul Islam, a health and family planning officer at the health complex, confirmed that Oishee died from excessive internal bleeding in the head.
Police have detained Sohel and his brother Tanvir for questioning in connection with the incident.
