Dhaka:A temporary bus terminal has been established at RAJUK's Jhilmil Residential Project area in Chunkutia. The initiative aims to reduce the influx of long-distance buses into the capital, thus alleviating traffic congestion and enhancing road discipline and passenger safety.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the terminal was inaugurated at 930 am, as confirmed by Md Akhtar Hossain, deputy police commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Media and Public Relations Wing.

The opening ceremony was attended by RAJUK Chairman Md Riazul Islam and Dhaka Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner (Traffic) Md Anisur Rahman, among others. The plan is for bus services to 19 districts in southern Bangladesh to commence operations from this temporary terminal within the next two months.

The DMP stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among all relevant agencies to effectively manage traffic congestion and modernize traffic systems in the capital. They highlighted that such collaborative initiatives would continue to ensure orderly traffic flow and provide passengers with safer, smoother journeys.
