Jamalpur:An elderly woman and her daughter-in-law tragically lost their lives early Saturday when a bus struck them on the Dhaka-Bakshiganj road in Nilakkhia Thakurpara village, located in Bakshiganj upazila of Jamalpur district.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the victims were identified as Ufeza Bewa, aged 65, and Farida Begum, aged 40, who was the wife of Nur Islam, a local resident. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. when the two women were standing beside the road and were hit by a Dhaka-bound bus, resulting in their deaths at the scene.
The officer-in-charge of Bakshiganj Police Station, Makbul Hossain, confirmed that the police have seized the bus involved in the accident and arrested both the driver and the helper at the location of the incident.
