Hanoi:Prime Minister Tarique Rahman expressed profound shock and sorrow at the passing of senior journalist Amir Khasru.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Prime Minister conveyed his condolences through a message, praying for eternal peace for Khasru's soul and extending deep sympathy to his bereaved family.
The Prime Minister highlighted Khasru's significant contributions to journalism, particularly noting his work with various media outlets, including Voice of America. He stated that Khasru's death has created a void in the country's journalistic community, acknowledging his writings that consistently championed democracy, truth, and rationale.
Amir Khasru passed away on Saturday evening at the age of 65 while receiving treatment at the Super Specialized Hospital of Bangladesh Medical University.
