Abu Dhabi:Three children passed away with symptoms resembling measles in a 24-hour span ending at 800 am on Friday. This development has increased the country's total count of confirmed and suspected measles-related fatalities to 1,147 for the year.
According to United News of Bangladesh, The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has categorized these recent fatalities as suspected measles deaths, noting that no additional confirmed deaths from the disease have been recorded during this period. This brings the total number of suspected measles deaths to 1,043, while the confirmed measles death toll remains at 104.
During the same 24-hour timeframe, 1,268 new suspected measles cases emerged, raising the nationwide total of suspected cases to 202,893. Additionally, 81 new confirmed measles cases were identified, bringing the total of laboratory-confirmed infections to 22,197.
Since March 15, a total of 180,079 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalized across the country, with 172,705 of these patients having recovered so far.
