Chhayanaut’s Autumn 2026 Program Highlights Tagore and Nazrul’s Works

Abu Dhabi:Chhayanaut's Autumn 2026 cultural program was held at St Joseph Higher Secondary School, featuring songs, dance, and recitations of works by Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam. This event took place in the capital on Friday, bringing together students from four educational institutions along with artistes from the cultural organization.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the event, titled 'Jog De Re Aj Soman Tane', was a joint effort by Chhayanaut and St Joseph Higher Secondary School. Participants included students from St Joseph Higher Secondary School, St Joseph International School and College, Excel Academy, and Nalanda High School, alongside Chhayanaut performers.

The program commenced with a collective song and dance performance of Tagore's 'Shorote Aaj Kon Otithi', involving students from all participating institutions and Chhayanaut artistes. Nalanda High School's segment included a song and dance presentation of Tagore's 'Alor Omol Komolkhani' and a group recitation of 'Shorot (Aji Ki Tomar Modhur Muroti)'.

Mehereen Fatema performed 'Tomra Ja Bolo Tai Bolo', and Sudarshana Alokananda Kundu sang Nazrul's 'Bhorer Jhiler Jole'. The segment also included a group recitation of Sunirmal Basu's 'Sobar Ami Chhatra'. Excel Academy presented a performance of Tagore's 'Dekho Dekho, Dekho, Shuktara Ankhi Meli Chay', with students singing and Chhayanaut artistes dancing. Arunabho Dey and Epshita Sikdar also contributed with Tagore's compositions.

Students from St Joseph International School and College performed Tagore's 'Kon Khepa Srabon Chhute Elo'. Parthib Saha and Izmir Mustafiz added their renditions, while Angkita Sarker sang 'Omal Dhobol Pale Legechhe'. The segment featured a recitation of Nazrul's 'Kon Sharate Purnima-Chand'.

The host institution, St Joseph Higher Secondary School, presented Tagore's 'Aaj Prothom Phuler Pabo Prasadkhani'. Sarthok Saha sang Nazrul's 'Esho Sharad Prater Pathik', followed by performances from Badhan Kundu and Dibbomoy Desh. Chhayanaut's segment included Tagore's 'Ogo Shephaliboner Moner Kamona', with performances by Prema Dewanjee and Shatadru Sarker.

The event concluded with a collective presentation of Tagore's 'Aaj Dhaner Khete', involving all participants, and the national anthem. This celebration is part of Chhayanaut's efforts to promote cultural heritage in educational settings.

The second day of the Autumn celebration is set for Saturday at St Gregory's High School and College, with participation from St Gregory's, Nalanda High School, and Chhayanaut, starting at 730 am and open to the public.
