National Wrestling Referees’ Training Course Kicks Off

Dhaka:A three-day National Wrestling Referees' Training Course commenced at the National Stadium on Friday, aiming to enhance the standard of refereeing in the country.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the course has attracted 36 participants, comprising 27 men and nine women. These participants represent various districts and organizations and include both former and current senior wrestlers.

The training is being conducted in the meeting room of the Dhaka Metropolitan Football League Committee at the National Stadium. Renowned figures such as National Sports Award-winning athlete and coach Haji Ashraf Ali, alongside Tamzid Rahman, Mizanur Rahman from Bangladesh Police, and Mizanur Rahman from Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), are leading the course as directors.

The first day of the event included theoretical classes focusing on diverse technical aspects of wrestling. The opening ceremony was attended by Bangladesh Amateur Wrestling Federation President Major General A S M Ridwan Rahman, along with senior vice-president Hasanuzzaman Bablu, general secretary M R Ali Fahim, joint secretary A K M Abdul Mobin, and treasurer Masud Akhtar Mobaraki, among others.
