Firearms and Homemade Weapons Seized in Bagha Char Operations

Bagha:Police have recovered a variety of firearms and locally made weapons during a joint operation in the char areas of Bagha upazila in Rajshahi, resulting in the arrest of a convicted individual.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the operation started early in the morning across the Chakrajapur and Gargari unions under Bagha Police Station. It was a coordinated effort by the Rajshahi District Police, the District Detective Branch (DB), and the River Police, led by Additional Superintendents of Police Md. Shariful Islam and A T M Mainul Islam, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Mamun Or Rashid.

A district police press release detailed the recovery of an airgun from a banana plantation owned by Amjad Hossain in Maniker Char village, Chakrajapur Union. Additionally, a single-barrel cut gun was found in a date-palm orchard west of Raja Bepari's house in Palashi Fatehpur village, also within Chakrajapur Union.

In Chanpur village, Gargari Union, police discovered five locally made sharp sickles and an iron hammer near the residence of Ruhul Amin. During the operation, two warrant recalls were also identified, and the press release noted that the joint drive is still ongoing.
